As I’m sure most of you are aware, I love baking! I’m still not very brave and adventurous and tend to stick to simple vanilla cupcakes, but I love trying out new techniques and using new things to decorate them with. I’m sure those of you that watched BBC’s The Apprentice last year will remember the feisty bubbly Luisa Zissman, a retail entrepreneur who was a runner up in the series. I absolutely loved watching her every week, and she was my favourite candidate to win, but I think she’s done better on her own anyway. Her business plan was to use…

One of the reasons I’ve been so busy and stressed lately is down to my cake business. Christmas was obviously a busy time for me and I had lots of orders to do. The mojority of these were for Christmas Eve, so I spent hours after work and a whole weekend preparing for the orders. So at the weekend I decided to get back into it and offered to make some cupcakes for my local villages…

I normally only come across recipe books as opposed books with decorative techniques used in making cakes, so I was interested to give this a read. Cake decorating has become hugely popular in the UK recently, which I would assume is in part due to TV shows like the Great British Bake Off. I was really surprised when I received it with how big it is! It’s a massive 248 pages long, and each page is filled with bright photos and interesting content. The book has step by…
