I hope everyone has had a lovely day, whatever you’ve been up to for Valentines! Me and Liam had originally planned to spend the weekend in Oxford, but unfortunately he was told last minute that he had to work on Saturday, so now we’re saving it for our anniversary in April. I was pretty upset to begin with as we’d booked the hotel and everything! But Liam drove 2 hours down to see me at my work on Friday to bring me flowers, pressies, and took me out for dinner. What a sweetie! Then today I drove up to his…

If you’re not interested in cakes or you’re feeling hungry you should probably look away now! For those of you that don’t know, I run a little cake business from my home. I’m all registered and insured etc, and I sell through local advertising and mainly on my Facebook page. I’m called Victoria’s Vintage Cakes, because I keep my cakes classic and simple, and I don’t like to do novelty stuff! And it’s the name of my blog so.. durr! A few weeks ago I booked a day off work and my parents and myself drove to Ely in Cambridgeshire for a little day out. We seem to spend a lot of our family days out here, as I love hunting in the numerous charity shops on the high street, browsing the huge antique store, and stopping for some tea at the stunning cathedral. On my birthday after work my Mum did a mini tea time for me and the family with plenty of cake and scones. I had a custom cake made for me by a local cake baker, which she decorated with a bright blue background and painted roses onto the cake.. so cute!…

My birthday was on the 30th July but I’ve managed to string my celebrations out for over a whole week! I didn’t do too much on my actual birthday as it was during the week and people were busy, but the weekend before I had a miniature tea party in my garden with my family, including my little niece who loves this kind of thing! Nothing fancy, just a few cakes and sandwiches and pretty tableware. Sorry about the dark photos.. the sun was quickly disappearing in the evening!  I set the table with my pretty Cath Kidston tea set…

If there’s one thing I love, it’s the British summer. It probably sounds a bit corny, and possibly a little bit unusual, but I absolutely love the UK, and there’s nothing better than a sunny day in our beautiful country. We don’t get many nice days, and recently has been a little bit hit and miss, but when the sun is shining, everyone seems to be so much happier and everything appears brighter, and it just makes me smile! I love discovering new places, visiting attractions and nice towns, and trying different restaurants and eateries. I wish I could just…
